The night before your pets’ surgery you need to put away their food and water when you go to bed or no later than midnight. Any time your pet is scheduled for anesthesia, fasting will be required. Please have your pet here the morning of surgery between 7:00-9:00.

When you arrive you will be greeted by the receptionist. They will check you in and get a weight on your pet. An assistant will come to bring your pet to the back. While here your pet will have a yellow neck band and a card on the kennel for identification. Also, any pet dropped off will receive a Cap Star. Cap Star is a flea preventative that starts working quickly and protects your pet for 24 hours. Once you are checked in it will be about a 15 minute wait for a technician to call you into a room. During this time they will discuss the procedure and estimated cost, have you sign an anesthesia release form, and answer any questions you might have. Surgeries are usually performed between 11:00-1:00. However, depending on the schedule it may be a little later in the afternoon. After surgery, your pet will be kept in the treatment area and monitored closely for any complications. Your pet will be given food and water as soon as he is awake and recovering well from surgery. Pets are taken out individually to our secure fenced in yards at 8:00, 11:00, and 4:00. Before the end of the day a technician or doctor will give you a call to update you on how your pet is doing. Surgery Patients can be picked up the day after surgery after 10:00 AM. When you come to pick up your pet you will need to see the receptionist to make your payment for the visit. Then the receptionist will have an assistant bring your pet to the lobby. The assistant will be more than happy to help with taking your pet to the vehicle. Please make sure ALL pets are on a leash or in a carrier. Dog spays, dog neuters, and cat spays will be sent home with antibiotics. Please be sure to give all medication as prescribed. Watch your pets’ surgery site for any redness, swelling, or drainage. Do not get the surgery site wet or bath your pet until the sutures are removed. Sutures can be removed 7-10 after surgery.
